Newborn Photography Somerset

A childhood to be treasured

'These are images I'm going to treasure always.
They make me feel so beautiful.'
                         - Kirstin

Your little ones are growing. One day soon they won't be so little and someday soon they will be taller than you! Now I'm sure you take hundreds of pictures of them on your phone and capture great videos of the silly, goofy little things they do.

And yes, every so often you might get a reminder alert that a year ago he looked like this, or three years ago she smiled like that. But honestly hand on heart, is that enough?

Aside from this being a valuable reminder to back up your phone (just in case!), this is also a chance for you to plan for the future and get beautiful bespoke images that will last forever. Don't miss this opportunity to get...

  • Stunning shots that you're excited to display in your home and make you smile every single day that you see them.
  • Beautiful photos and albums that you can hand down to your children and grandchildren for them to pour over with love.
  • Natural images full of smiles and laughter that remind your babies of their wonderful childhood spent making memories that were worth framing.

Capturing the Memories

What ages do you photograph?

I'm Georgia, a Maternity and Family Photographer in Yeovil, Somerset and the surrounding area.

I've been professionally photographing children and families for over 4 years and am passionate about making sessions relaxed, fun and full of smiles

I love to work with all ages, so whether you're looking to capture some of those important early milestones or you just want some images of your teens together before they fly the nest, I can help.

The simple answer to this is that I photograph children of all ages from tiny tots right the way up to teenagers. So to help you here are some popular milestones that clients regularly request and why they make great opportunities for photography in your little ones childhood.

It feels like it goes without saying but getting gorgeous shots of your box fresh baby is always a must. The tiny wrinkles, the peach fuzz, the perfect tiny fingers and toes.

The ideal time to get a newborn session is within the first 12 weeks after birth to get all those teeny tiny baby features. So it's well worth booking your session during your last trimester of pregnancy to guarantee availability.

Newborns

Sitters and Toddlers

If newborn photos aren't for you then another great option is a Sitter Session. Taken at about the 4 - 9months mark when your baby is sitting unassisted but not quite ready to crawl. These are my personal favourite to photograph as you get beautiful chubby cheek smiles and those big round eyes.

Toddler Photography Sessions are always fun and full of activity. So if you're looking for images full of stomping in puddles, smelling the wild flowers and general personality-filled mischief then toddler sessions are definitely the way to go.

Primary, Tweens and Teens

Your babies may be well out of the toddler stage, but they are still the apple of your eye. Whether individual portraits or as a sibling session, it's always lovely to get some current high quality images of your children to display in your home. The benefits may be more profound than you'd expect. Check out my blog post on the positive impact of family photography to find out more.

Hello

Client Love

"Georgia is amazing! She made us feel at ease as soon as we met her. She was brilliant with our two children and knew exactly where we should be to get a great photo. The end result was just fantastic and we are thrilled with every photo. Would 100% recommend Georgia."

'She was brilliant with our two children'

We absolutely love our photos! Georgia was great at creating a fun and relaxed atmosphere- getting the children to sit and smile has always been tricky! But it ended up feeling more like a lovely play session at the beach rather than a formal photo shoot. Gee was very professional and we think the final results are fabulous!

Frequently Asked Questions

A commonly asked question about coaching goes here...

How old do they need to be for a newborn shoot?

How old do they need to be for a newborn shoot?

The ideal time for a newborn session is within the first 2 - 4 weeks of birth. This is when babies have those distinct newborn features and behaviours  like little wrinkly feet and hands, that curled up sleepy position and those peach fuzz cheeks. After this first month of life, baby will be more alert, spend longer periods awake between feeds and enjoy stretching out.

Will it be posed with props?

Will it be posed with props?

Yes and no. These photos are all about capturing you and your baby in this very special newborn haze. I personally don't feel that putting your baby in a bucket or putting a bonnet on them makes them look any cuter, they are already perfect exactly as they are. However, I will help guide you into cuddled up poses that both look and feel natural. If you wish to include any special momento's (baby blankets, special toys, books you've read them) we can of course include them in the images to give that extra personal touch.

When should we book a newborn photography session?

When should we book a newborn photography session?

To avoid disappointment I recommend clients book their newborn sessions as far in advance as they can. I ask my newborn families to provide their estimated due date when inquiring so that we can secure them a space on the calendar. Then I'll check back in once baby has arrived to see when is the best morning for the session within the first month of birth.
